Perfect Party planning
As for any business, the more you like and believe in the product you choose to sell, the easier your job will be.

However, as direct sales, and particularly party planning can involve selling to people in their own homes, the product choice is fundamental when thinking of becoming a direct sales agent.

Firstly, look for a product or service that appeals to you, and which is fairly priced. Your enthusiasm for the product will help your sales tremendously and value for money is even more important when times are tight. Do not base your product choice on higher commissions and bonuses. A fantastic product, one you would buy yourself, will mean sales will be easier to achieve. If the product is tricky to sell, with maybe a narrower appeal, even with a higher rate of commission, you will find yourself working far harder for a comparable income.

Don't be misled by companies promising no sales targets to meet into thinking they offer an easy way to make money. In this type of business if you are not making sales, you are not making money. Set your own sales targets by thinking about what level of sales you would want to achieve, and deciding whether this is realistic based on your regional coverage and time commitment.

Most people's first experience of party planning is an invitation to a someone's home to view or sample the latest products from a wide range.  Whatever the place or product, the main objective is to create a pleasant, welcoming environment where guests are inspired to enter into the spirit of things - and to make a purchase.

To succeed in direct sales, you don't necessarily need experience or qualifications but it does help to have an interest in the things you are promoting and to genuinely enjoy talking to people and selling to a live audience.

 Build a business!

To build up a business of reasonable size you will need a steady supply of hostesses - customers who will be willing to invite their friends and acquaintances to a party event and allow you to make a sales presentation.

Many network marketers start with their own circle of friends.  Make a list of people you know who might be interested in your products.  Then ask them what they think of the idea.

Don't push them - this is a good way of losing your friends!

 Being an agent

means arranging parties yourself or can involve looking for others to host parties for you.  Party guests are your most likely source of new recruits and others can easily be contacted through advertisements in shop windows and local papers.

One way to gain experience is by hosting a few parties yourself first or by attending other people's parties, noting what goes happens, what literature and display equipment is used, how goods are demonstrated, and how orders are taken and processed
